Two of the zones are pvp enabled, 2 are not. Exile's Isle In Exile, you farm in zones for keys to drop. If no groups are running dungeons, including in realm chat, then do solo dungeon if you don't want to wait, but we encourage waiting, as the rewards tend to be better, and people can carry you in harder dungeons. 4 Group Dungeons You get 4 rewards from dungeons a day, preferably use these on group dungeons. RVR quests give blue magic stones, which are important do the hardest zones you can.ģ. RvR Daily quests Blue RVR quests at Conflict zones Green quests there must be done first to have the blue ones unlocked.Īirships are frequently done for Pioneer tokens. Have fun! kr is apparently much worse as far as p2w so it may only be a matter of time.Īs it sits, it's def worth a free install if your bored.1. From what I can tell the only thing you can't really get without money is inventory and standard Korean game tells us that your inventory will be flooded in the first 3 hours of play with items you dont even know you need or not. Outside of that standard Korean pay for inventory and costumes to look different but not too bad on your wallet. Elyon does have 1 system that is p2w now but the lumunis are so easy to get as a f2p player your only going to p2w for a small time window before f2p players catch up. P2W bdo is by far one of the most successful p2w games of all time at this point imo and it's only gotten worse over the years. So while it has far less classes you have more options.

I have probably engaged in more pvp in the past couple days of elyon than my last few months of bdo ( from a natural run into other players perspective) class balance is an issue in both games but elyon provides a lot more options on how to play your character than bdo. Outside of nodes and seige and the random dfs bdo is 99% mob grind 1% pvp. Pvp have to give it to elyon because let's be honest. I don't feel the backwards progress in elyon as much as bdo. Over all as someone with litterally hundreds of pen fails and who quit bdo recently after failing 25 pen laytenns in a row costing me 1 year of progression. Gear has random enchants and ability to be enhanced so it's a endless grind for the "perfect" item. But the gear and rune system adds way more customization than bdo. Rng def an issue in both games but elyon does seem much less punishing unless it's "breakthrpugh gear" which is destroyed on failure. Bdo combat is more fun imo at least for melee I'm almost 43 in elyon on a slayer (def broken class but melee feels way underpowered compared to ranged) the combat is fine a semi cross between bdo (knock backs, stiffens, stuns, similar cc systems) but a mix of standard action bar skills vs bdo feeling like a fighting game. Ppl say watered down bdo which is right they both have very similar aspects at a glance with rng enhancements, endless grind for loot/drops/gear/in game currency and both being action combat. So as someone with over 10k hrs in bdo reached 670gs and someone who has maybe 25 hrs in elyon so far here are my thoughts. So far I'm really enjoying it solely because of the gameplay, the combat, and the skill customization.Īs far as endgame and balancing I can't say much on that because I haven't gotten there yet, but I think I've already heard some problems on it.Įdit: thanks for comments guys! but it seems some people are posting and haven't played the game at all.please read first sentence again, thanks.

If it wasn't for the action combat and especially the skill customization, this is your average Korean MMO. Has amazing skill and trait customization (and this is it's biggest strength), which has more depth than any other MMO Skill customization I've ever played and seen. Cash shop not P2W, but looks concerning for the future Story is decent and does a really good job of teaching you all the systems in the game (and there are a lot) Good ranged combat, meh melee combat ( it's too stiff and feels a bit off) Typical Korean MMO, does not do anything different except really one thing which it shines at (discussed further on) My personal thoughts are as follows after trying it for about 20 hours, most playtime with assassin and a couple hours with gunner: And by tried it, I mean actually experienced the gameplay for a couple hours (not including character customization).
